Title: Report on One Day Poetry Reading Event (काव्यमैफिल)

On March 2nd, 2024, a Poetry Reading Event (काव्यमैफिल) was organized jointly by the Marathi Department and Staff Academy for the academic year 2023-2024. The event commenced with an introductory note delivered by Prof. Dr. A. K. Ghorpade, the Chairman of Staff Academy 2023-2024. In his address, Prof. Ghorpade elucidated on the objectives behind organizing such lectures and events.

Shri. Ganesh Raut and Shri. Kishor Kale were the distinguished invitees for the Poetry Reading Event. Both poets presented their compositions in front of the gathered audience comprising teaching and non-teaching staff. Their poetry resonated deeply with the listeners, evoking strong emotions. Kishor Kale, a renowned poet, is known for his poetry collection titled ‘Banda Hungama’ (बांडा हांगाम), which sheds light on the current plight of farmers. Ganesh Raut, another esteemed poet, is recognized for his focus on the contemporary societal issues. Being a Dalit poet, his verses shed light on the lives of the untouchables, bringing attention to their struggles.

Following the poetic recitations, Principal Dr. A. R. Patil delivered the presidential address, sharing his insights on the significance of literary events like this. Prof. S.B. Ingale introduced the esteemed guests, highlighting their contributions to the field of literature. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Mrs. Varsha D. Manvatkar.
