COMPUTER DEPARTMENT
Establishment and Leadership: The Computer Department, a cornerstone of technological education, was founded in June 1991 with Prof. Arvind N. Chaudhari serving as the inaugural Head of Department (HOD). Prof. Chaudhari, an esteemed member of the Board of Studies in Computer Management at NMU, Jalgaon, laid the foundation for the department. Currently, Prof. Kailas D Sonawane leads the department as the HOD, ensuring its continued growth and relevance. The department aligns its programs with the curriculum provided by NMU, offering comprehensive education at the undergraduate level.
Academic Focus: The Computer Department is dedicated to imparting advanced communicative knowledge and skills to its students. To supplement learning, the department provides access to standard commercial and financial journals and magazines through the college library. Recognizing the significance of staying current in the rapidly evolving field, internet facilities are also extended to students for knowledge updates.
Aims and Objectives:
- Computer Awareness: Foster computer awareness among students, ensuring a fundamental understanding of computing technologies.
- Commercial Software Exposure: Provide exposure to commercial software, enhancing students' familiarity with prevalent applications.
- Application of Computers in Business: Develop awareness regarding the use of computers in business, trade, management, communication, and various business relationships.
- Project Management: Guide students through the various stages of project preparation, from proposal to implementation.
- Interdisciplinary Approach: Encourage an interdisciplinary approach to various courses aligned with need-based syllabi.
- Insight into Business Practices: Develop insights into the business environment and successful business practices through the application of computer technologies.
- Computer Literacy Programs: Conduct computer literacy programs for both staff and students, promoting a technologically proficient community.
- Competitive Exam Preparation: Assist students in acquiring the requisite ability and competency for competitive examinations such as MBA, MCM, and MCA.
